about

The Magician was one of the high points of the final 1993 album Circus (White/Reprise). The Rockfield sessions were something new for the band - a luxurious accommodation wing, full-time chef, oodles of state-of-the-art equipment, engineers, assistants, a huge budget and, most significantly, Freddie Mercury's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' grand piano. We like to think that there's a bit of Freddie somewhere on that record. And we like the rhythmic swampiness of The Magician.
