'Kitchen Man' was covered by Not Drowning, Waving on 3RRR's album called Used and Recovered by whereby Melbourne bands covered songs for a compilation put out by the great community radio station based in the inner suburbs of Melbourne.

Kitchen Man was written by Dave Mason and Colin Newham of the Reels the electronica pop band from Dubbo that broke the mould. If I ever had a curious visitor from overseas who wanted to hear a band from Australia that they would not hear elsewhere, I would invariably give them Quasimodo's Dream by The Reels. Dave Mason later sung backing vocals on Blue Black Sky and Safety Haven on my Hotel Radio album which thrilled me no end.

NDW's music was haunting, evocative, brooding, sensuous and a million other words that excite people who type for a living. In record stores, you could usually find NDW filed under ambient or art-rock, ill-fitting labels if ever there were. Though they were often minimalist, they never made background music.
